It has been alleged that Sukh Ranjan Chakraborty, the headmaster of Baliahalot Government Primary School in Pabna Sadar Upazila, is an Indian citizen. The complaint has been received and the documents have also been submitted to the district primary education office—an investigation has been ordered, said the district primary education officer.

Important information for the reader: The name of the accused is Sukh Ranjan Chakraborty; he is working as the headmaster of Baliahalot Government Primary School. The complaint states that he has an Indian national identity card and Aadhaar card—the registration number of the identity card is 0000/00802/76397 and the Aadhaar card number is 405022343351. According to the complaint source, it is also mentioned that he is the son of Nirmal Kumar of Suryasen Palli, 467 area of Dummum, South Barrackpore city of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India. However, the complaint also states that he has been working as a government employee as a resident of ward number 2 of Pabna city.

The complaint further states that Sukh Ranjan has become an Indian citizen and has built Indian land and flats; his wife and elder son are in India. He lives in Pabna with his son occasionally because he receives allowance as his younger son is speech-impaired. It is alleged that he sometimes goes to India on leave for 15 days to 1 month. At the same time, the complaint has been submitted that he is trying to fraudulently take some government leased properties in the name of his father-in-law Deepak Kumar Roy in his own name.

Complaint from the in-laws' family - Sukh Ranjan's brother-in-law Suman Kumar Roy said that their family has complications with government land. "When my father died, the lease was in my mother's name. After my mother died, an application was made to the District Commissioner - even to the municipality. Now their (accused) people want to evict me from my house," claimed Suman Kumar Roy.

District Primary Education Officer receives complaint
Pabna District Primary Education Officer Ashraful Kabir confirmed the truth of the complaint and said that they have received the complaint and documents in writing. He said, “I have received the documents. An investigation has been ordered. Necessary action will be taken against him after receiving the investigation report soon.”

Accused Sukh Ranjan Chakraborty denied the allegations as false. He said, “These allegations are false, these documents can be fabricated. My wife and children have gone to India after having problems with my brother. I have no contact with them. I tried to bring them but they did not come. If there is an investigation against me, I will be able to show all the documents.”

Current situation and further legal process
The District Primary Education Office has started an investigation based on the complaint; the district office has said that the education department/relevant authorities will take necessary action based on the report received after the investigation. Since this is a serious complaint related to citizenship and eligibility for government jobs, a final decision will be taken after the investigation — no one can be claimed guilty or innocent until the investigation report comes.

When contacted recently with the local administration and school authorities regarding this matter, they promised to prioritize document verification and investigation activities.
