BNP protests and demonstrations in Madan over NCP leader's negative comments about Babar

BNP has strongly protested in Madan upazila of Netrokona after National Citizen Party (NCP) chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari made negative comments about former state minister for home affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar. At a function held at the Collector's Ground in Netrokona on Sunday on the occasion of NCP's 'July Padayatra', Nasiruddin Patwari spoke by mentioning Babar's name, raising the issue of the ten-truck arms case during the BNP government's time. This created anger in Babar's own area, Madan.
In view of this, in the afternoon, leaders and activists of Madan Municipality and Upazila BNP and its affiliates gathered at the party office in Jahangirpur Center. A protest procession started from there and ended in the Upazila Parishad area. Later, a protest rally was held in front of the party office.
Upazila BNP President Nurul Alam Talukder, General Secretary Rafiqul Islam Akand, Municipal BNP President Kamruzzaman Chandan and other leaders addressed the protest rally. The speakers called Nasiruddin Patwari's comments purposeful and defamatory and demanded his immediate withdrawal. They said that Babar is a popular and contributing politician, and the party leaders and activists will not accept it if his honor is tarnished. The leaders also said that the local BNP will be forced to take strict action if such comments are repeated in the future.
