Sajjad Molla's twin sisters were born a month ago. Mother died one week after birth. The day laborer's father, Jamal Miah, was jailed last week in a political case. In such a situation, 13-year-old brother Sajjad is spending inhumane days with three sisters including two dairy sisters.
Sajjad is the eldest son of Jamal Mia of Chitrapara village in Kotalipara, Gopalganj and a seventh standard student of the local MM Khan High School.
According to the news, Jamal Miah is a day laborer by profession. After the death of his wife, the dairy farmer was mentally broken with four sons and two daughters. Day laborer Jamal Miar was spending days in poor condition with his sick mother and four children at home.
In this situation, Kotalipara police arrested Jamal Miah last Friday (08 November). He was then handed over to Gopalganj Sadar Police Station. On Saturday (November 9), the Gopalganj Sadar police station arrested Jamal Miah as a suspect in the murder case of Shaukat Ali Didar, sports secretary of the Central Committee of the Volunteers Party, and sent him to jail.
Kishore Sajjad Molya says, My annual exam will start in a few days. Schooling has stopped. I can't even read books at home. Who will pay my school fees and exam fees? Who will add food to my one-month-old two sisters? Today three days the stove does not burn in our house. People around are feeding us. How many days will it last? My father has been arrested on false charges. We want our father back.
Jamal Mia's brother Monir Mia said, "My brother is not involved with any political party at present." Once he was the General Secretary of Amtali Union Youth Dal. We don't know why the police arrested my brother and sent him to jail in a murder case.
He also said that my brother's first child Sajjad Mia is in the seventh grade of MM Khan High School. The second child, Faria, is a first class student at Chitrapara Government Primary School. He also has two daughters aged 1 month. Jamal's wife Sathi Begum died six days after the birth of these two daughters. My old mother was looked after by my brother Jamal. Now there is no one to take care of Jamal's four young children and elderly mother. I want my brother's release as soon as possible.
Neighbor Qayyum Miah said Jamal is not involved in any politics. Why was he arrested in a political murder case and sent to jail? Who will take responsibility for Jamal's four children now? Jamal was arrested without reason. Thinking about these four children and the sick old mother, we local residents demand the release of Jamal.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotalipara Police Station Abul Kalam Azad said, "We have learned that Jamal Miah was the joint convener of Dhaka's Tejgaon Thana Sramik League." Last Friday, Jamal was arrested and sent to Gopalganj Sadar Police Station in Didar's murder case. There, Jamal was arrested in a murder case and sent to jail.
