A young man was arrested while smuggling hilsa fish in India

BGB arrested a truck driver named Alak Mondal (22) on the charge of illegally smuggling hilsa fish from Bangladesh to India. Members of 59 BGB battalion arrested him from Sonamsjid land port of Chapainawabganj on Monday morning.
Alak Mondal is the son of Ranjit Mondal of Tiakathi village in Kanchanta under English Bazar police station in Maldah district. He is a truck driver by profession. This was confirmed by the captain of 59 BGB battalion, Lt. Col. Golam Kibria. Golam Kibria said, based on secret information that there is suspicion of hilsa fish smuggling in India, a truck was searched while entering India and the driver Alak Mondal was arrested along with 17 kg 600 grams of hilsa fish. Later, he was handed over to Shibganj police station along with the truck.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibganj police station Golam Kibria said that the Indian truck driver Alak Mondal has been sent to court after showing his arrest in the case filed by BGB.
