3 out of 5 people killed in road accidents are from Narsingdi

On September 14 at 11 pm, a collision between a covered van and a CNG took place in the area adjacent to Moolgaon Madrasa on the Kaliganj-Tongi-Ghorashal bypass road. 5 passengers of CNG were killed in this tragic road accident. 3 of the 5 deceased were members of the same family of Baghab Union in Shibpur Upazila of Narsingdi.
Kaliganj Fire Service confirmed the information on September 15 (Sunday). The deceased are Nazmul Hossain (35) son of Magrab Ali of Hajipur area of Satkhira Sadar police station, Amal Kumar Karmakar (39) son of Subhash Karmakar of Noagao area of Gazipur district. The other 3 are Abdur Rahman's wife Rabeya Begum (75), her son Mohammad Ali (45) and Mohammad Ali's son Aman Ullah (5) of Akrashal village of Baghab Union in Shibpur Upazila of Narsingdi.
According to the Kaliganj Fire Service, after receiving the information, the fire service rescue personnel reached the spot at around 11 pm and recovered the bodies of four people including a woman. The child later died after being taken to hospital.
According to local sources, a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw hit a covered van standing at around 11:30 pm in the area adjacent to Moolgaon Madrasa on the Kaliganj-Tongi-Ghorashal bypass road. Later, 6 people including a child and CNG driver were rescued and taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Later the doctor on duty declared 5 dead one by one. On the other hand, the CNG driver was referred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with first aid.
Meanwhile, when the bodies of the victims arrived home, a shadow of mourning descended on the area. People came from far and wide to see the dead bodies. Today (Sunday) at 5:30 pm (Bad Asr) funeral prayers for the deceased will be held at the local Akrashal Government Primary School ground.
