Ragging on EB; Five students took the victim's case to court

A case has been registered against the accused in the Islamic University (EB) Lalon Shah Hall ragging incident. The victim is a 2023-24 year student of Finance and Banking Department. Tarek. He filed this case against 9 accused in EB police station on Tuesday evening.
According to police sources, a case has been filed under Section 323, 506 of the Penal Code. The accused are Sabbir Hossain, Sharif Sheikh Shehan, Shariful Islam Limon, Kant Barua, Jihad, Shafiullah, Tariqul, Mukul and Akumi Barua of the Law and Land Management Department of the year 2022-23 of the University's Finance and Banking Department. Among them Sabbir, Shehan, Limon, Kant and Sanjay who are in police custody have been sent to Kushtia District and Sessions Judge Court.
Case investigation officer Nasir Uddin said that a case has been registered against 9 people. 5 people arrested in the police station have been sent to court.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Farid Uddin said, 'When the police is informed during the incident of ragging, the police goes there. Later those involved in ragging were handed over to the police. Then today from among the victims. Filed a case as plaintiff in the name of Tarek. As a result, today (Tuesday) the accused were sent to Kushtia Court.'
It is to be noted that the incident of ragging took place in room No. 330 of Lalon Hall of the university on Monday midnight. In the name of ragging, the juniors have been accused of acting in the name of porn star, reciting obscene poetry, acting of smoking cigarettes and using bad language on the phone and threatening in various ways.
The authorities formed a 4-member investigation committee in this incident on Tuesday. Provost and convenor of the investigation committee said that the report will be submitted by next Sunday. Akhtar Hossain. Other members of the committee are professors and assistant proctors of public administration. Fakrul Islam, Hall Resident Teacher Rasul-e-Ilahi, Member Secretary Hall Assistant Registrar Zillur Rahman.
Lalon Shah Provost Professor Dr. Akhtar Hossain said, 'We have formed an investigation committee. We will submit a report with recommendations by next Sunday.'
University proctor professor Dr. Shahinuzzaman said, since the subject of the hall. Hall body will submit our report and recommendations after investigation. Then we will do whatever we can. We sat down with many of the stakeholders. We are taking this seriously. No discount will be given.
