Gusty to gale force winds may blow in the North Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of the country. Due to this, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has asked the seaports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra to display local warning signal number 3.

This warning was issued in a weather bulletin issued on Friday (July 10) morning. It said that the clear low pressure area in north-west Madhya Pradesh and its surroundings has lost strength and is currently located in central Uttar Pradesh and its surrounding areas. It may weaken further in the coming days.

However, although the low pressure area is weak, the difference in air pressure in the North Bay of Bengal is still high. Due to this, there is a risk of sudden gusts or squalls over the seaports and coast.

In this situation, four seaports of the country have been asked to maintain warning signals. In addition, fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal have been advised to stay close to the coast instead of going into the deep sea.

The Meteorological Department has asked ships to operate with utmost caution until further notice.
