Sheikh Mohammad Morshed gave the letter of exemption to the President through the Attorney General on Tuesday morning.
When asked about the resignation letter, Sheikh Mohammad Morshed told Prothom Alo, "I gave the resignation letter due to personal and physical illness."
Supreme Court lawyer Sheikh Mohammad Morshed was appointed as Additional Attorney General by the President on January 24, 2021.
Sheikh Hasina left the country and went to India after resigning from the post of Prime Minister on Monday in the face of the students' movement. Sheikh Hasina's resignation ended her 15-and-a-half-year rule. He came to power in the December 2008 elections.
