3 police cars on fire in Sreepur, Gazipur

Clashes are going on with the police at Mauna Chowrasta area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Sreepur, Gazipur.
The clash started on Saturday (August 3) from 11 am. The clash was going on till the writing of this report at noon.
According to the locals, the protestors vandalized three police cars and set fire to three police boxes in the area. Police are firing tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.
The protesters claimed that many of them were injured. On the other hand, the police said that several members of the police were injured in the attack of the agitators. Some people were arrested from the spot.
It is known on the ground that around 11 am, the agitators started gathering at Mauna Pallividyut Mor area. Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliates and affiliated organizations took position under Mauna flyover. Around 11:30 agitators started marching from Pallividyut Mor and moving towards south. There, the agitators shouted slogans of 'fake-fake' at the police and Awami League leaders and activists.
After that, the protestors turned the march and took a position at the Pallividyut intersection. At that time, Awami League leaders took out a procession from under the flyover. Later, the agitators marched with sticks in hand and spread to Mauna intersection. They attacked three boxes of Mauna Highway, District Police and Thana Police there. They set fire to all three boxes by causing extensive vandalism.
At that time, various banners and festoons of government party leaders and activists were torn around. At one stage the agitators took position in front of Bhai Bhai City Complex on Mauna-Shripur road. When he saw the police there, he again shouted 'Fake-Fake'. At that time, when they said not to vandalize anything, the agitators threw bricks at the police. Later, the police fired tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.
At one point, the agitators vandalized three police cars in front of Bhai Bhai City Complex and set them on fire.
