The real owner has returned the occupied land in the Banshkhali Upazila administration's drive in Chittagong. On Wednesday (October 29) morning, the eviction drive was conducted in the Chandpur Bazar area of Pukuria Union under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Omar Sani Akon.
The ancestral property of Md. Taj Uddin of Chandpur in Pukuria Union had been occupied by an influential group for a long time. Even though the verdict was in favor of Taj Uddin in 2022 in the case filed in 2009, the occupant did not vacate the property. Then, in 2024, the administration conducted the eviction drive today, Wednesday, based on the court's re-direction.
After the drive, 3.50 percent of the land was handed over to Taj Uddin. A team from Banshkhali Police Station assisted in the drive. The locals and the victim's family expressed gratitude to the administration for the peaceful completion of the drive.
