Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury met the injured people who were beaten up at the house of Awami League leader and former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur.
This Saturday morning, he went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to inquire about the injured people. The Home Affairs Advisor told reporters that each of those involved in the attack on students will be identified and brought to justice.
Out of the 11 people injured in the incident, 7 people have been admitted to the hospital. The condition of one of them is critical. Among the injured, one named Kashem (17) is seriously injured and undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The condition of the remaining 6 people is also stable.
On the other hand, Yakub's brother Md. Nasir said that they were trapped and held at the house of AKM Mozammel Haque in Gazipur and attacked with sharp weapons.
Last night, a group of angry students attacked and vandalized the house of the former minister in Dhikshan Khan, Dhirashram, Gazipur city. At that time, some locals detained some of them and beat them up, injuring at least 15 people.
In protest of the attack, leaders and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement held a protest march in front of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital at around 1:45 am.
They alleged that the attackers came there with the intention of looting, and when they were stopped, many more people came from behind and attacked them with weapons.
