UNDP to assist EC in updating voter list!

The door-to-door voter list updating process is starting from Monday. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is providing technical assistance to the Election Commission (EC) in this process. This assistance is being provided with laptops, scanners and other necessary equipment.

On Sunday morning, UNDP will hand over these equipment to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin. The matter was confirmed by EC Public Relations Director Md. Shariful Alam.

EC officials said that the door-to-door data collection process will start from January 20 and will continue till February 3. The EC will complete the registration by going to the centers and taking photographs, collecting irises and ten fingerprints.

UNDP has been assisting the EC in various fields for a long time. This time too, it is providing technical and technical assistance for the 13th National Parliament Election and updating the voter list.

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said, “Apart from updating the voter list, they will also help in data generalization and customization. We have been requested to help fill some of our material deficiencies. They are also providing assistance in hardware, software, training, skill development, communication and SDG goals.”

The EC said that work is underway with the aim of organizing the 13th National Parliament elections in December.
