The government is taking initiatives to recruit more teachers to increase the capacity to improve the quality of education instead of increasing seats in medical colleges. This was stated by Nurjahan Begum, Health Advisor to the interim government. She made this comment while visiting the MBBS admission test for the 2024-25 academic year at the Dhaka Residential College Center on Friday morning.

Nurjahan Begum said, "Need-based doctors must be produced. Instead of increasing seats, the government is thinking of increasing the number of skilled teachers. Coordination between different colleges will also be made if necessary."

The admission test for government and private medical colleges across the country was held on the same day. 1,35,261 candidates took part in the one-hour test from 10 am to 11 am on Friday.

Candidates said that the environment during the test was fair and transparent. This year, as the total number of seats is 5,380, about 25 candidates have competed for each seat. The candidates are optimistic about good results.
