A ship carrying 22,000 metric tons of rice imported from Myanmar has arrived at the Chittagong port. Bangladesh imported this rice under a government-to-government agreement.

This information was confirmed by Imdad Islam, Senior Information Officer and Public Relations Officer of the Food Ministry, on Friday. He said that the ship "MV Golden Star" carrying this rice imported from Myanmar on the basis of the G2G agreement has arrived at the Chittagong port. This is part of the first consignment imported from Myanmar under the current interim government.

Imdad Islam also said, "After collecting samples of the rice on the ship and conducting physical tests, the unloading work will begin soon. Necessary measures have already been taken for the unloading process."

It is expected that the country's food reserves will be further strengthened as a result of this rice import.
