Published: 06:28 12 November 2024
On Tuesday (November 12) in the afternoon in the meeting room of the ministry in the secretariat, after the meeting with the owners and representatives of various televisions in the country, advisor Md. Nahid Islam told reporters that rumors and misinformation are going on about Bangladesh.
From social media to international media, various conspiracies and propaganda are being carried out about the coup and the government. Such disinformation is also being carried out in the media of our neighboring countries.
Mentioning that this propaganda is not only against the government but also against Bangladesh, he said, to give a counter to the propaganda that is being spread about Bangladesh and to highlight the real truth, we have to work together with the government and the media. We discussed about that, took everyone's opinion.
He also said that many journalists and students also worked for justice in the July Revolution. We have called for their safety and not to harass them.
They also stated the demands and problems they have from the owners of the media. For example, they said about the price regulation of Bangabandhu satellite. Talking about pay channels, there is a policy regarding foreign channels. Also, they talked about the TRP issue. In these matters we will again sit with them and try to solve the issues logically.
Journalists have been persecuted in various ways in the past regime, their freedom has been interfered with. Everyone's hope is that this kind of situation does not happen again in the coming days. Let us all ensure a free media.
