The students have expressed their disappointment in the speech of Education Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud regarding the ongoing movement demanding the establishment of an independent university with seven colleges. At the same time, they have announced another blockade program next Sunday (November 3).

Seven College University Transformation Team announced this program at ScienceLab at 5 pm on Wednesday (October 30) after an 8-hour blockade.

Abdur Rahman, the focal person of the platform said, today we (students) held a blockade program at Sciencelab intersection to demand the formation of a commission with the intention of establishing a university consisting of seven colleges. Our program has started from 11 am. Today's blockade program was successful with the spontaneous participation of seven college students. A statement by the Education Advisor came into view while we were conducting the blockade programme.

He said that the statement did not mention the formation of the university transformation commission or the inclusion of student representatives in the commission. The statement disappointed the students of Sat College. Therefore, I demand to form a university transformation commission consisting of academicians and student representatives immediately

Therefore, next Sunday (November 3) at 11 am, a peaceful blockade and hunger strike program will be held again at Sciencelab intersection. He also informed that department wise online discussion meeting will be organized in every college along with online campaign from tomorrow till Saturday.

Earlier, Education Adviser Wahid Uddin Mahmud made a statement requesting patience from the students of seven colleges who are agitating for an independent university in the afternoon.

He said that a high-level committee has already been formed to solve the problem. We will take quick action once we get the report of the committee.

Incidentally, seven college students are protesting with a total of three demands. The demands are —

1. Seven college university commissions should be constituted immediately.

2. This commission will scrutinize various issues and formulate an outline within 30 days.

3. No session block can be created while establishing independent university. Until the university is not established, Dhaka University should continue its activities in such a way that the sessions do not get jammed.
