Ifad Autos started its first bus export operation from the country

Ifad Autos Plc, a listed automobile company, has started exporting buses for the first time. This export process started this week. An initial consignment of 11 AC buses is being exported to Bhutan. The body of the AC buses is prepared at Ifad Autos own manufacturing plant. The company has given this information about the bus export in a press release on Saturday.
Regarding the export activities, IFAD Group Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu said, Bangladesh has always imported buses. A new chapter in history began as Bangladesh exported for the first time through IFAD Autos. He said, 'Ifad Autos PLC has achieved a historic milestone for the automobile industry of Bangladesh. With government support, it will be possible to export buses to many more countries. Maldives, Nepal, Myanmar and India's seven sister states have already expressed interest in buying AC and non-AC buses from us, said Iftekhar Ahmed Tipu.
He also said, 'There has been a revolutionary change in the field of heavy vehicles in Bangladesh in the last few years. With increasing demand, a huge amount of foreign currency is being spent on importing cars. Keeping this in mind, Ifad Autos Ltd. set up a car manufacturing factory. He said, the factory initially added cars but later started producing world class AC, non-AC luxury buses.
Ifad Autos Plc is one of the companies of the Ifad Group. Since 1985, Ashok Leyland has been marketing various models of AC, Non-AC Buses, Trucks, Covered Vans in Bangladesh. At the beginning of 2017, IFAD Autos Limited started car manufacturing operations in Dhamrai, Dhaka with the technical support of Ashok Leyland. It is the largest commercial vehicle manufacturing plant in the country by private enterprise.
