Jatiya Party leaders have been given 24 hours to retract their derogatory statements about Gana Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque (VP Noor) and tender an unconditional apology. The party leaders gave this ultimatum at the press conference of Gana Odhikar Parishad district branch at the party office in City Bazar in Rangpur Nagar on Sunday afternoon.
Hanif Khan, member of the higher council of the People's Rights Council, read the written statement at the press conference. He said, "A protest procession of Jatiya Party leaders, known as friends of fascism, has come to our attention on social media in Rangpur. Where the icon of youth, one of the shapers of the fall of fascism, the former VP Gana Odhikar Parishad president Nurul Haque and the Gana Odhikar Parishad have made negative comments.
Strongly condemning and protesting such behavior of Jatiya Party leaders and workers, it was said in the press conference that Jatiya Party, the friend of Awami fascism, was an accomplice in the last three elections. Mass murderers, fascists and their associates will have no place in politics on the soil of Rangpur, the bloodbath of martyr Abu Saeed of the July revolution. If any person or organization tries to disturb and heat up Rangpur by rehabilitating fascism, the revolutionary students of Rangpur will be given a befitting reply.
Masud Rana, Organizing Secretary of Gana Odhikar Parishad Rangpur division said in the press conference that the Jatiya Party has been cornered in the center and the leaders of the party are doing the worst to hide the situation. The Jatiya Party has always legitimized the dictatorship of Sheikh Hasina. Therefore, this Jatiya Party is as responsible as Awami League for the creation of August 5.
Masud Rana also said that the Jatiya Party is an old party and its leaders have aged. Therefore, national politics should be given priority to the demands of the present generation. He urged Jatiya Party leaders to continue the trend of positive politics in Rangpur without giving any provocative speech.
Meanwhile, on November 8, the divisional assembly of the People's Rights Council will be held at Rangpur District School Ground. Gana Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque, General Secretary Rashed Khan and other leaders of the party will be present in that rally.
It may be noted that the People's Rights Council has announced the program of rally in front of Jatiya Party office across the country. The party held a protest rally against the attack, vandalism and arson at the central office of Jatiya Party in Rangpur on Saturday afternoon. Mostafizar Rahman, former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation and co-chairman of Jatiya Party, spoke in that program. In that speech, there were accusations of insulting Nurul Haque and the People's Rights Council.
