Every year at this time the incidence of dengue increases. Dengue outbreak has increased again. At this time, public health experts give some general advice. This time, dengue is considered a little differently and suggested by public health expert Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed.
According to him, most of the dengue patients now are secondary patients who have had dengue before. As the symptoms of the second stage sufferers are slightly different, the risk of disease complications and death is also higher.
There are three types of dengue fever. Group A has no complications. Group-B patients may have 'warning signs' or have pre-existing chronic heart, lung, kidney or liver disease or are high-risk patients, such as obese, pregnant, children or elderly patients. And group-C is acute complex patients, such as water in the chest or abdomen, with difficulty breathing or blood pressure drop, blood pressure drop due to severe bleeding or a specific organ failure, such as liver failure, brain encephalitis, kidney failure.
What to do to avoid complications
It takes several days for antibodies against dengue to become detectable. About seven days. CBC and NSWAN antigens should be tested within the first three to five days of fever and Dengue Ig-M and Ig-G antibodies after seven days. Based on the patient's pulse rate and other physical examination and blood test report, the doctor will guide you whether you can be treated at home or admitted to the hospital. Among the physical tests, there is also a test called 'tourniquet test', which can be assumed to be dengue fever if it is 'positive'. Do it early in the fever. It should be remembered that once treatment is started after the situation becomes complicated, it becomes difficult to get out of it.
Every patient must be under the supervision of a physician. Blood pressure should be measured as per the instructions, tests should be done after certain time. Then it will be easier to take the necessary steps as soon as the complexity is reached. Apart from this, the general treatment of fever will continue. The body can be wiped or bathed in lukewarm water. A patient with dengue fever must consume plenty of fluids. Especially fluids rich in nutrients and salts, such as saline, cans, fruit juices, syrups, rice starch, etc. Paracetamol can be taken. But aspirin or painkillers cannot be consumed.
