With the funding of the Ministry of Social Welfare and the overall cooperation of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the National Nose, Ear and Throat Institute is providing hearing aids for the hearing impaired 'Cochlear Implant Device'.
It is reported that the device will be implanted in the ears of disabled children through free or partial cost surgery. Interested parents have been asked to apply by June 13.
Director of National Ear, Nose and Throat Institute Professor Dr. Md. This information was given in a circular signed by the Zakaria government.
According to the notification, on the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, cochlear implant program has been started at the National Institute of ENT (National Ear, Nose and Throat Institute) for the welfare of the hearing impaired. Through this program, cochlear implant devices will be provided through government funded surgery to the hearing impaired.
The notification has asked to collect and submit the application forms from the cochlear implant department of the institution located in Tejgaon by June 13.
It has also been said that applications are being invited from parents of hearing impaired children who are interested in getting a cochlear implant device allocated and implanted in the ear through surgery. Priority will be given to children below 5 years.
The notification also mentions that this device will be given free or partial cost to the selected candidates as per the cochlear implant allotment policy approved by the Ministry of Social Welfare.
