Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has claimed that none of their leaders and activists have taken personal revenge against anyone in the last one and a half years. He made the remarks while participating in a friendly rally organized in Mirpur, the capital, on Tuesday night.

Speaking at the rally, he said that India had cooperated with Bangladesh during the Liberation War, but later that country's behavior was 'like a plunderer'. He alleged that during the long 17-year fascist regime, the voice of opposition was stifled and the country was turned into a paradise for crime.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, the Awami League's oppression of protesters forced the general public to take to the streets. In his words, "The fascist government did not satisfy its desire to shoot on the streets, it also fired from the sky."

He further claimed that although the Awami League is an "irresponsible organization", Jamaat has saved the country with its conscience. He said that none of them have behaved vindictively out of their responsibility towards the people of the country.

The Ameer of Jamaat also commented that Sheikh Hasina's trial has been "impartial, fair and transparent". He said that the bereaved families have got temporary relief through the verdict. He urged the judiciary to implement the verdict.

Referring to the banned activities of the Awami League, he said that those who love the party should surrender themselves to the law.

Stating that the reconstruction of the country's education system is one of the main goals of Jamaat, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that a new education system will be built on moral foundations. He further said that they are moving forward with the goal of bringing the backward people forward and building a corruption-free country.

He said that Jamaat is firmly determined to protect the country's resources. Their 'war' against terrorism, extortion and corruption has begun, which will be helpful in establishing justice for all citizens.

Noting that even if we establish friendship with civilized countries, we will not accept any domination, he added that women are the center of civilization, and Jamaat will prioritize ensuring their safety.
