The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigating the corruption of 41 influential ministers-MPs of the previous Awami League government.
On Monday (August 19) the decision was taken by the commission at the head office of the ACC. In this regard, three separate teams have been formed under the leadership of three directors.
A senior source in the ACC confirmed the matter.
Among the former ministers whose names have been decided to investigate corruption are former Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, former State Minister of Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid Bipu, former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, former Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni, former Minister of State for Relief and Disaster Dr. Enamur Rahman, former health minister Zahid Malek and former local government minister Tajul Islam. Besides, former ministers include Junaid Ahmed Palak, Muhibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel, Khalid Mahmud, Chowdhury Faridul Haque, Golam Dastgir Gazi, Imran Ahmad, Zakir Hossain, Kamal Ahmed Majumdar, Zahid Ahsan Russell, Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Shajahan Khan, Hasan Mahmud, Kamrul. Islam, Hasanul Haque Inu also has a name.
Among the former members of parliament are Benazir Ahmed, Sarwar Jahan, Shariful Islam Jinnah, Shahidul Islam Bakul, Sheikh Afil Uddin, Chalim Uddin Tarafdar, Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Enamul Haque, Meher Afroz Chumki, Noor Alam Chowdhury Shawon, Sheikh Helal Uddin, Swapan Bhattacharya, Kazim Uddin Ahmed, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Muhibur Rahman, Mamunur Rashid Kiran, Ziaur Rahman etc.
