Barrister Suman, the discussed member of parliament, urged the Chhatra League not to take the law into their own hands due to violence in the ongoing movement on the issue of quota reform.
Claiming that there is a conspiracy to tarnish the reputation of BCL, Barrister Sumon said that those who have faced BCL, it is a conspiracy to make the organization unpopular. Because when one or two teams face each other, if the BCL hits someone, or the BCL gets beaten up, then the situation might turn bad. This may harm the Chhatra League.
However, to prove themselves, many joined the clash by tagging the Chhatra League. But does he not understand that if you beat someone, it is being videoed, people all over the country are watching! This is causing damage to the Chhatra League. Those who understand, never engage in such activities', added Suman.
Addressing the Chhatra League, Suman said, if you really want to resist someone, if you see that someone from outside the movement wants to harm the government or the state, then you will hand them over to the administration. But don't take the law into your own hands. I say this as your elder brother. I am also a former worker of Chhatra League.
On Sunday (July 14) afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that if the grandchildren of freedom fighters will not get quota benefits in government jobs, then will Razakar's grandchildren get them?
The Prime Minister's response to the press conference held at the Ganabhaban has since gone viral on Facebook, saying that the 'Agitators are the grandchildren of Razakar'. In view of which, the students of Dhaka University protested throughout the night by calling themselves 'Rajakar'.
Then on Monday (July 15) in the afternoon, the quota reform activists clashed with Chhatra League leaders and activists in the Dhaka University area. Several hours of clashes left many injured on both sides. Later the police went and brought the situation under control.
