Kushtia District Association President, Kushtia District BNP Joint Convener and Asure Group Chairman Md. Sheikh Sadi said, “Work never betrays people. My goal is to accelerate the development of Khoksa and Kumarkhali.” He said these things at a meeting titled ‘Development and Potential of Kushtia’ with journalists at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday (September 13) evening.
Sheikh Sadi said that along with business, he has been relentlessly involved in social work for a long time. As the President of Kushtia District Association, he is making significant contributions in the education, health and social sectors. More than 1,000 people are working in his organization Asure Group, and he is providing higher education assistance to about 150 students with the salary money received from the organization.
Explaining his reason for joining politics, he said, "You may be able to keep your family well if you do business alone. But politics is essential if you want to move society and the country forward. I have done what I have been able to do as a businessman, now I want to bring about even bigger changes through politics."
Sheikh Sadi claimed that his efforts have led to significant progress in the development of various educational institutions and infrastructure in Kushtia. He has especially played a role in the construction of new buildings for 28 schools through the Ministry of Education.
He also said, "I do not believe in propaganda, I believe in work. Work never betrays people. My goal is to accelerate the development of Kumarkhali and Khoksa."
Addressing the journalists at the meeting, he said, "You ask questions. If there is any error, I can correct it through your questions."
The program was hosted by Munshi Tariqul Islam, Organizing Secretary of Kushtia Journalist Forum Dhaka, and Rezwanul Haque, News Chief of Maasranga TV, presided over the program. General Secretary of Kushtia Journalist Forum Dhaka, Ranjok Rizvi, delivered the welcome speech.
Senior journalist Abdul Bari, former finance and organizing secretary of the forum Ujjwal Kumar Roy, Kushtia Press Club president Tariqul Haque Tariq, Shariful Islam and KMR Shaheen, and various media workers were also present at the meeting.
