The Ministry of Education has stopped the salaries of 28 teachers and staff of a madrasa, including the principal, for two years as the former member of parliament of Faridpur-4 constituency, Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury alias Nixon, was 'shocked'. The incident happened in Faridpur's Bhanga Upazila of Ikamatedin Model Kamil Madrasa.
According to local sources, former Member of Parliament of Faridpur-4 Constituency, Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury sent a DO letter to the then Education Minister and requested 'specifically to suspend the salaries of teachers and employees including the Principal'. In the DO letter, Nixon Chowdhury said, 'Ikamatedin Model Kamil Madrasa of Bhanga Upazila of Faridpur-4 in my constituency was established during the BNP government. It is known that the teachers and staff of madrasas do not respect the government guidelines. I am deeply disappointed by this. Therefore, I am specifically requesting to suspend the salaries of the following teachers-employees including the principal.'
