He made this call when the officials of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) went to a meeting at the office of the Chief Adviser on Sunday (September 8).
IOM Bangladesh Mission Chief Abdu Sattar Isoev at this time presented the picture of Rohingya resettlement in developed countries including the United States.
The meeting also said that the United States has reiterated its commitment to resettle thousands of Rohingya in their country, but that the process has not been accelerated.
The Chief Adviser directed the officials to speed up the process.
He told senior officials of Bangladesh that the resettlement process should be easy, regular and smooth. This should be the easiest of the process.
The head of IOM Bangladesh said that the resettlement of Rohingya started again in 2022 after a gap of 12 years. But this year the process has gained some momentum.
At this time, foreign adviser Touhid Hossain, foreign secretary. Jasim Uddin, Home Secretary Abdul Momen, SDG Affairs Secretary Lamia Morshed, Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Secretary Kamrul Hasan and IOM Deputy Chief of Mission Fatima Nusrat Ghazzali were present.
