Jessore-6 Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) has called on Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to apologize to the students and unconditionally release all the students who have been arrested due to the casualties in the conflict over the quota reform movement.
Azizul Islam The call was made on Thursday night, August 1, by a post on a Facebook ID named KM Aziz (with a photo of the member of parliament on his profile). The Facebook post was confirmed by his personal assistant (PA) Trang Saha. He said that MP Azizul Islam posted the post from his own Facebook ID. Member of Parliament Azizul Islam posted a long article under the title 'What can be done right now to remove the pain of ordinary students?' In the Facebook post, he wrote, the way things are going, it will take a long time to normalize the situation.
Arresting ordinary students cannot be a solution. I think it is unreasonable to arrest students who have no political affiliation. If you want to normalize the situation, it will not be pleasant to arrest ordinary students. Instead, the government should release all the ordinary students who have been arrested unconditionally and arrange a public dialogue with the VC of the universities, the education minister, the law minister, some respected parents of the state, the coordinators of the agitators and the national professors to restore the situation of education in the educational institutions.
The best decision of the time would be to show the utmost sincerity of the state in alleviating the accumulated anger of the students. One side wants to overthrow the government by placing guns on the shoulders of ordinary students. Doing something like this will destroy the opportunity of the criminals. It is also said that the most regrettable thing is that Obaidul Quader Saheb and the Home Minister, who are the most angry of the students, have not yet expressed their grief to the common students in that way. Of course they should apologize to the common students.
So many fresh lives are gone. I don't see anything wrong if the officials apologize to the students. As responsible people have to take responsibility, they also have to take responsibility. A country cannot remain in such a deadlock. He also wrote in the Facebook post, for the good of the country and the decade, the state needs to take effective initiatives to alleviate the anger of the common students. As the matter is not of any political party, the VC of the university should play a proper role here. And if our VCs fail to see the students' side, I don't think they have any moral right to be in that position.
The peaceful people of the country want peace. Don't want to see any more violence. The country has gone backwards in the last 2-3 weeks and there is no room to go back. Let there be good wisdom among all. May peace return to the country. Member of Parliament Azizul Islam is a former leader of Keshabpur Upazila Chhatra League. In the 12th National Assembly elections, he was elected as an independent candidate by defeating the District Awami League General Secretary Shaheen Chakladar in Jessore-6 constituency.
