Due to rising military tensions and security risks, the Pakistani government has urged international commercial airlines to avoid the country's airspace. This warning was given by the country's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif. He said that in the current situation, civilian aircraft are likely to be hit by bullets or missiles, which can cause serious loss of life.

There has been an increase in military deployment and shelling in the India-Pakistan border area in recent times. In this politically and militarily tense situation, the airspace is also at risk. According to experts, aircraft in the air at such times can be hit by stray missiles or misidentification. Earlier, civilian aircraft were also attacked during the Ukraine-Russia conflict—such as Malaysian Airlines flight MH17.

In light of this warning, several international airlines have already started avoiding Pakistani airspace.

Emirates Airlines said it has suspended all flights to Pakistan until May 10.

Lufthansa Airlines announced that it will not use Pakistani airspace until further notice.

Several other international airlines, especially those based in Europe and the Middle East, are planning alternative routes to avoid flying over Pakistan.

Security analysts say these precautions and measures are quite reasonable. They believe that if precautions are not taken in the current situation, unexpected accidents can occur, which could endanger the lives of many civilian passengers.

These precautionary measures by airlines are likely to remain in place until the regional security situation improves. In addition, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the United Nations are monitoring the situation to ensure that it does not deteriorate further.
