Police recovered the body of a young man named Nayan Hossain (28) from litchi garden in Ishwardi, Pabna. Police believe that he was killed with a sharp weapon.
His body was recovered from a lychee garden in Baraichara village of Salimpur union of the upazila on Thursday (October 10) morning.
The deceased was the son of wood merchant Nazrul Islam of Baraichara village in Salimpur union of Nayan upazila and was an electrical mechanic by profession.
Relatives of the deceased said that he had a TV/Fan repair shop in Jayanagar Shimultala Bazar. Every night between 9-10 pm he used to close the shop and return home. As he did not return home till 12 midnight on Wednesday and the mobile phone used by Nayan was switched off, his family started searching in and around Shimultala Bazar. In the morning, the family members went there and identified the dead body of the dead Nayan on the news that the body was lying in a nearby lychee garden. After the locals informed the police, the police went and recovered the dead body from the spot.
Biplab Kumar Goswami, Additional Superintendent of Police of Ishwardi Circle, said that the deceased Nayan had injuries on his face and neck with sharp weapons. Police initially believed that she had been stabbed and strangled to death. The dead body was recovered and sent to Pabna General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. The case is being prepared.
