The capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas will have to spend the day in intense heat today. The latest forecast of the Meteorological Department has said that there is no possibility of rain on Saturday and the sky will be clear. As a result, there is no chance of relief from the heat.
According to the six-hour weather forecast given at 6 am today (April 26), the sky in Dhaka will be clear and the wind will be from the south and southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. At 6 am, the temperature in the capital was recorded at 28.8 degrees Celsius, where the humidity in the air was 79 percent. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 28.5 degrees Celsius.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature in the capital was 34.6 degrees Celsius. In line with this, it is seen that the temperature is expected to remain almost the same today as well. As a result, the intensity of the heat will cause more suffering in the life of citizens.
The Meteorological Department also said that sunset in Dhaka will be at 6:25 pm today and sunrise will be at 5:27 am tomorrow (Sunday). In the meantime, no rainfall has been recorded in the capital in the last 24 hours.
On the other hand, the overall forecast of the country released by the Meteorological Department on Friday night said that there may be temporary gusty winds with lightning and rain or thundershowers at one or two places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions today. However, the weather will remain mainly dry elsewhere in the country.
The forecast also said that a mild to moderate heat wave is currently blowing over Dinajpur, Jessore and Chuadanga districts including Rajshahi division and it may continue.
This intensity of heat is having a huge impact on public life in different parts of the country including the capital. Due to water shortage, the dominance of the sun and the sweaty environment, everyone from the common people to the working class are suffering extremely. Especially since noon, the movement of people on the roads has been relatively reduced.
Health experts have advised drinking enough water, wearing light and white clothing, and not going outside unnecessarily to avoid the risk of heat stroke, dehydration, and fatigue during the summer.
