On Friday (November 29) morning, locals suddenly caught a glimpse of the stunning natural beauty of the world's largest mountain range, the Himalayas and Kanchenjunga, in Tetulia, the northernmost district of the country.
This mountain can be seen from Tetulia, Panchagarh, in a crystal-clear blue sky and a clean natural environment. However, last (Thursday) at the end of November, the appearance of Kanchenjunga was seen with the naked eye.
Locals said that the stunning natural beauty of the Himalayas and Kanchenjunga can be seen from various places in Tetulia Upazila of Panchagarh. The appearance of Kanchenjunga was seen with the naked eye.
Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. From a distance, the mountain peak looks like a colorful scratch on the gray mountains in the sky. Sometimes it is white and white, sometimes sun-orange. This year too, Kanchenjunga is clearly visible from some districts of North Bengal in Bangladesh. Many people are flocking to these districts to see this view. Many are also posting pictures of seeing Kanchenjunga on Facebook.
Mobarak Hossain, a resident of Tetulia, Panchagarh, said, "Every year, Kanchenjunga is more or less visible from our district at this time. But it has not been seen so clearly as this year for many years."
He said, "The snow-capped mountain is visible from almost all parts of the district. Even from some places, houses, lights, and traffic in some cities below the mountain can be seen."
Kanchenjunga is one of the most popular attractions for tourists. The main attraction of Darjeeling, Ghum or Kalimpong, one of the rock cities of India, is Kanchenjunga. It is located across Sikkim, India, and Nepal. It is the third highest mountain peak in the world. Its height is 8,586 meters or 24,169 feet.
Where and when to go
To see Kanchenjunga from Bangladesh, you have to travel to Panchagarh. Panchagarh includes Tetulia, the northernmost upazila of the country. There is a historic Dak Bungalow in the heart of this headquarters. The construction technique of this long-ago establishment is very much of the British Victorian style. It is said that it was built by the King of Cooch Behar.
A beautiful picnic spot has been built next to the Dak Bungalow, which is run by the Zilla Parishad, under the supervision of the Tetulia Upazila Parishad. The two establishments together have become a great tourist spot. To see this beautiful place, you have to climb about 15 to 20 meters above the ground.
The mighty Mahananda flows past it. On the other side of the river is India and on the other side is this Dak Bungalow and picnic spot on a high wall. From the balcony of this Dak Bungalow, Kanchenjunga can be seen floating on the distant horizon. Apart from this, Kanchenjunga can also be seen from Banglabandha, Bypass, Bhajanpur Karatoya Bridge, Bhitargarh, among other places in Tentulia.
To enjoy the enchanting beauty of Kanchenjunga sparkling in the sunlight, you have to go in late autumn or early winter. It is especially good to go during the period from October to mid-November. During this time, the sky is completely clear. There is no way to play hide and seek with the snow-covered Kanchenjunga.
