Bangladesh defeated Malaysia by 120 runs in the second match of the U-19 Women's Asia Cup. Nishita Akter Nishi and Habiba Akter all-out Malaysia for 29 runs in a target of 150 runs. And Bangladesh women entered the Super Four as the champions of Group 'A'.
Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat at the Baymas Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday morning and scored 149 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Opener Fahmida Chaya scored 26 off 21 balls, another opener Mosammat Eva scored 19 off 16 balls, Jannatul Mawa scored 45 not out, captain Sumaiya Akter scored 12 off 11 balls and Sadia Akter scored 31 not out off 19 balls. Opener Nur Alia Binti Mohammad Hairune scored the highest 5 runs and Irdina Beh Nabil and Nur Izzatul Syafika scored 3 runs. Jannatul Mawa was the man of the match with 45 runs.
Bangladesh won against Sri Lanka on the first day of the tournament yesterday. Bangladesh's opponents in the Super Four are India and Nepal. The other team in the Super Four is Sri Lanka. The top two teams in the final Super Four points table will advance to the final on December 19 and 20. The final is on December 22.
