Excitement is high over this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. The auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24-25, focusing on the 2025 IPL, where various cricketers from around the world will participate. 12 cricketers from Bangladesh are going to participate in this auction, including Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that the concerned cricketers have been given full clearance to participate in these three editions of the IPL. This means that they will not return to the country during the IPL and the cricketers who are in the auction will participate in the franchise tournament the entire time. The BCCI has also taken this step so that cricketers do not leave the tournament midway.
Mustafizur Rahman has the highest base price among Bangladeshi cricketers in this auction, with a base price of Rs 2 crore. Mustafiz has won the Purple Cap multiple times in the 2023 IPL, although he could not participate in the entire season due to the Bangladesh series. The base price of Shakib Al Hasan, Taskin Ahmed and Mehedi Hasan Miraz has been kept at Rs 1 crore. In addition, the base price of the remaining 8 cricketers is Rs 75 lakh.
Mini auctions will be held in the next two years of this mega auction, where not many cricketers will be sold. As a result, this auction is very important, because each team will form a team according to their three-year plan. In addition, the BCCI has confirmed the IPL schedule for the next three years, which will help the franchises in preparing their teams. The 2025 IPL will start on March 14 and end on May 25. The IPL will be held at almost the same time in the following years.
Incidentally, which cricketers will play in which team for the next three years. After this big auction, there will be mini auctions for the next two years. Not many cricketers will be auctioned there. Therefore, each team will form a team with a three-year goal. The board also announced the dates of the IPL for three years. At the same time, India also received assurances from all cricket boards about receiving players.
