Today at Shahbagh, a procession, candlelight vigil and prayer program has been organized in memory of the martyrs from Shahbagh towards Rapa Plaza. This event has been organized as part of the week-long 'Resistance Week' under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement today, Wednesday, August 14 at 4:30 pm.
Anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Abu Bakr Majumdar announced this program at midnight on Wednesday, August 14.
He said that among the main demands of Wednesday's program are four points, including the trial of the murderer Hasina.
He urged all students and people of Dhaka to participate in this program. In addition, marches, candlelight vigils and prayer programs are called for at places where students have been martyred across the country.
The four-point demand of the anti-discrimination student movement is that special tribunals should be set up to ensure speedy trial of those who committed murders using fascist structures, including the Awami League and the Fourteen Parties, which participated in efforts to debunk the popular uprising through planned robberies and looting. They must ensure justice, speedy removal and prosecution of those in the administration and judiciary who have legitimized the attacks, prosecutions, and killings of student uprisings and repeated attempts to establish fascism, and those who have been discriminated against for so long in the administration and judiciary. Equal opportunities should be ensured for them.
