After the fall of the government, on the second day of the opening of the office, extreme unrest has started in Bangladesh Bank due to the anger of the officials. Meanwhile, four deputy governors, head of BFIU and policy advisor have decided to resign. Governor Abdur Rauf is also missing.
It is learned that four deputy governors and the head of the Financial Intelligence Unit have 'resigned' in the face of demands from angry officials and those who were present in the office have already left the central bank. At this time, the soldiers gave them security.
The ordinary bankers said that the governor, deputy governor and advisors of Bangladesh Bank were expelled for assisting in robbery, usurpation, unethical benefits and various irregularities in the banking sector.
They first started the movement on Wednesday (August 7) around 10:30 am.
After that, the officials took position on the fourth floor of the Bangladesh Bank's Governor's building, chanting 'Bhua Bhua'.
Eyewitnesses said that the protesters entered the room of Deputy Governor Kazi Chaidur Rahman and pressured him to resign. At that time Chaidur Rahman wrote and signed his resignation on a white paper. Later he left the bank.
The aggrieved officers-employees then went to Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar's room. Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar said that he is leaving the office. The remaining two deputy governors. Khurshid Alam and Md. Habibur Rahman was not in the office. However, when the employees contacted them on phone, they said that they will not come to the office again. Similarly, the bank's advisor Abu Farah. Nasser and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Masud Biswas also said that they will not come to the bank again.
These top officials of Bangladesh Bank were appointed on contractual basis. The agitating officers-employees declared them undesirable in the central bank.
