A case has been filed against 19 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son and her information and communication technology advisor Sajib Wazed Joy and former ICT state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak. An aggrieved person filed a case under the Cyber Security Act at the capital's Kafrul police station on Tuesday night over the alleged leak of National Identity Card (NID) information.
According to the statement of the case, Sajib Wazed Joy and former state minister Junaid Ahmed Palak misused their power and sold the national identity card information of the people through organized circles. The accused allowed Digicon Global Services Limited to do business with various organizations using NID information without ensuring national security and security of personal information. Information that is sold to approximately 182 organizations within and outside the country. Trafficking of information to third parties has created insecurity among people. Allegations of embezzlement of about twenty thousand crore taka for selling information are also brought in the case.
