The bodies of Babu Pramanik (35) of Kheyanuka who went missing after being hit by a bulkhead in the New Dhaleswari river at Kalihati in Tangail were recovered after one day and the bodies of Muktar Ali (32) after two days.
The body of Babu Pramanik was recovered from Jakarchar area of Kalihati around 5:30 pm on Monday and the body of Muktar Ali (32) was recovered from Pauli area around 11 am on Tuesday.
They went missing after falling from the truck after being hit by a bulkhead at Jokarchar Kheyaghat in Kalihati around 8 pm on Sunday.
The deceased Muktar Hossain is the son of Samchul Haque of Durgapur village of Kalihati upazila and Babu Pramanik is the son of deceased Raham Pramanik of Malanch village of Tangail Sadar upazila.

A few passengers were crossing Dhaleshwari river in Khyanuka in Jokarchar area of Kalihati. Meanwhile, the passengers of the boat fell into the river due to the impact of the sand-bearing bulkhead. While others managed to climb the bank, Babu Pramanik and Muktar Ali could not. Fire service diving team tried to rescue them on Monday morning. Later, the bodies of Babu Pramanik and Muktar Ali were recovered around 5:30 pm on Monday and 11 am on Tuesday.
Tangail Naval Police SP Mohammad Sohail Rana visited the spot on Monday and said that the bulkhead of the vehicle through which the accident took place is in police custody. The driver and helper of the bulkhead have been arrested. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
