Former Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and general secretary of Dhaka University branch of Chhatra League Tanveer Hasan Saikat have been taken to the DB office after the 10-day remand was granted in the murder case.

He said that former Deputy Speaker Shamsul Haque Tuku, former ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak and Chhatra League's Dhaka University General Secretary Tanveer Hasan Saikat were kept in DB custody in the case of the murder of a rickshaw puller in the capital's Paltan. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rashidul Alam granted a 10-day remand when they were sent to court this afternoon. After the remand order, he was brought to the DB office around 5:30 pm for questioning.
At 3:40 p.m. on this day, the police produced them in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka. At this time, a 10-day remand was applied for them for proper investigation of the case. Later, Magistrate Rashidul Alam's court approved it.
Earlier on Wednesday (August 14) night, these three were arrested while hiding from Nikunj residential area of Khilkhet police station of the capital. After their arrest, they were taken to the DB office at Minto Road in the capital.
