A case has been filed against the former captain of the national cricket team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, for allegedly taking ownership of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) team Sylhet Strikers by force. The case was filed at Pallabi police station in Dhaka.
Nazrul Islam, the OC of Pallabir, said that the former owner of the team, Sarwar Golam Chowdhury, filed the case on Sunday night. He said, "It is not a political case, it is a business case. In this case filed with Mashrafe as the main accused, 5 others have been accused.”
In the case, the plaintiff complained that a person named Helal Bin Yusuf Shubhra sitting in Mashrafe's office forcibly took away the ownership of Future Sports Bangladesh Limited, the parent company of Sylhet Strikers. It has been alleged that a revolver was pointed at Sarwar Chowdhury's head at that time.
