After Kolkata, a hospital in the northeastern state of Tripura has announced to stop treating Bangladeshi patients. This information was reported by the Indian media Hindustan Times in a report on Saturday night.

The media reported that the ILS Hospital located in Agartala, Tripura, has decided to stop treating Bangladeshi patients. In addition, the help desk for Bangladeshi patients in that hospital has also been closed.

The Chief Operating Officer of ILS Hospital told the Indian news agency PTI that we agree with the demand made by the locals to stop treating Bangladeshis. The help desk for them at the Akhaura check post and ILS Hospital has also been closed.

Earlier, JN Roy Hospital in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, India, had announced not to provide medical services to any Bangladeshi patient.

It is worth noting that tensions have been ongoing between Bangladesh and India since Sheikh Hasina fled to India in the face of the student uprising on August 5.
