US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former Congressman Son Duffy for the position of Secretary of Transportation in his next administration.
This was announced by Trump last Monday. Son Duffy was once a regular presenter on the American television channel Fox News and has also presented programs on other TV channels as well.
The Republican administration led by Trump has promised to cut spending after taking office. In this context, Trump praised Son Duffy in a statement and said he would work to ensure "fiscal accountability" in the House of Representatives. Republican Son Duffy was an elected congressman from Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019.
After nominating Son Duffy as Secretary of Transportation, Trump said, "He (Son Duffy) will prioritize excellence, competence, competition and beauty in rebuilding highways, tunnels, bridges and airports across the United States."
