Israel's wartime cabinet has decided to launch a second attack on Iran.
Netanyahu convened a special Israeli wartime cabinet meeting on Sunday night, in which all cabinet members "unequivocally" backed the proposal for a second strike on Iran.
Israel's broadcasting media Channel 13 reported this information in a report on Tuesday. Rumors in Israeli political circles are that the decision was taken in response to the October 19 drone attack on Netanyahu's residence in Tel Aviv. However, a minister who participated in the meeting said that this decision has nothing to do with the attack.
But in that case, he did not agree to comment on why the second attack on Iran was decided.
However, many political analysts in the Middle East believe that after the recent attack, the supreme spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recently announced that he would respond by counterattacking Israel.
The Israel Air Force carried out a short and limited attack on Israel on Saturday, October 26. Members of the Israeli Air Force shelled Iran's missile factories and stockpiles in the operation, which lasted from 4 to 4 and a half hours. Two members of Iran were also killed in this operation.
In a speech on Sunday, Khomeini said, "We are neither exaggerating nor underestimating Israel's attack. However, we have to respond to this attack in the interest of the country's sovereignty and people. How it will be given will be decided by senior government officials.”
Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Ismail Baghei said in a press conference on the same day, "We will respond to the Zionists' attacks with everything we have."
Netanyahu called a wartime cabinet meeting hours after Khamenei and Ismail Baghei's comments.
