Meanwhile, on the occasion of India's Independence Day on Thursday, several Bengali and Hindi films are slated to release at the box office. One of those Bengali films is 'Padatik' starring Chanchal Chowdhury and directed by Srijit Mukherjee. But in the contemporary situation of West Bengal, director Srijit is not bothered about his film. In his words, I don't mind if people don't see the picture in the state's situation. That is, he wanted to convey that his position in the movement is more important than his image.
Srijit said, 'I think the city is not in the mood for entertainment or watching movies at the moment. I am not.'
He wants to leave the future of the film to the audience. He said, 'Whatever the audience wants, that will happen. In this situation, if they don't see my picture, I have no objection.
It can be said that the film 'Padatik' is being released with some storms. Director Sreejith also talked about whether he is worried about the future of the film. He said, 'I talked to the producer about delaying the release of the film. But he told me very helplessly that he will suffer huge financial loss. Because the film is being released at the national level. So nothing could be done.
It should be noted that actor Chanchal Chowdhury played the role of Mrinal Sen in Sreejith's film. But due to the movement in the country, Chanchal could not go to promote the film in Kolkata.
Srijit said, 'All is unfortunate. The film is releasing at this time. But, it is not in our hands.
