A case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and former Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader against 7 people on the charge of killing grocery shopkeeper Abu Saeed.
On Tuesday, August 13, a person named SM Amir Hamza appealed this case in the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury. There has been no hearing on this issue yet.
The other defendants in the case are - Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md. Haroon Or Rashid, former commissioner of DMP Habibur Rahman and former joint commissioner of DMP Biplab Kumar Sarkar.
On July 19 at 4 pm, Abu Saeed was shot dead by the police during a procession in support of the quota movement at the 40 feet intersection in Bachila under Mohammadpur police station.
