As part of the anti-quota movement, the students protested and demonstrated in Chandpur District Judge Court and District Commissioner's office area as part of the 'March for Justice' padayatra program.
On Wednesday (July 31) around 1:00 pm, they protested by standing on the north side of the Chandpur-Comilla regional road in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.
At the beginning of the protest, the students tried to enter in front of the district judge's court and were stopped by the police. Later removed from there and taken to one side of the road. Meanwhile, hundreds of students took a stand ignoring the torrential rain.
At that time, the students said 'Eat mine, after me, shoot me' 'Take your quota, return my brother' 'Why did my brother die, why did my sister die, I want an answer, 'I have given blood, I will give more blood, wake up, wake up, student. The society has woken up' and started chanting 'quota na medha, medha, medha...'.
The students complained that during the quota reform movement, various government forces, Chhatra League-Youth League shot and killed students and common people. And the police arrested the innocent students and sent them to jail.
Members of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station, District Detective Police (DB) and Special Team were present at the spot to control the students.
