New varieties of high quality rice seeds have been distributed free of cost in Pabna. At the same time, special training on seed marketing and rice production has been provided.
On Tuesday (November 05) around 11:00 a.m., these seeds were distributed and farmers trained at Pabna Sadar Upazila Agriculture Office Auditorium.
The program was inaugurated as the chief guest by Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Khamarbari, Pabna. Md. Jamal Uddin.
Wahidul Amin, Country Coordinator of Harvest Plus Bangladesh and Zaquil Hasan, Divisional Coordinator presented the information about Scaling Biofortified Crop Project-IFPRI Harvest Plus seeds.
Pabna Sadar Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Shailen Kumar Pal was present, Pabna Agricultural Extension Directorate District Training Officer Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Director (Cereals) Md. Roknuzzaman, Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Kuntala Ghosh, Pabna Agricultural Information Service Assistant Information Officer Khaledin Anam and Harvest Plus Program Project Coordinator Saleh Md. Shihab Uddin and others.
More than half a hundred marginal farmers of different unions of the district participated in it.
