BGB seized 181 bottles of phensidyl after searching a truck loaded with stones at Sonamsjid land port in Chapainawabganj. The truck has been impounded in this incident.
Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) commander Lt. Col. Golam Kibria gave this information in a press release sent to the media at around 12 noon on Thursday (31 October).
According to the press release sent to the media, based on intelligence information, the BGB conducted a search operation on Indian trucks in the area of imported stone unloading point, adjacent to Sonamsjid Madhya Bazar of Shahabazpur Union under Shibganj Thana of Chapainawabganj district, approximately 300 yards from the border pillar 185/16-S. At that time, the driver of an Indian truck (WB65A1503) carrying 52 tons of stones recovered 181 bottles of phencidil hidden in a special way in the cabin.
In this regard, the captain of Mahananda Battalion (59 BGB) Lt. Col. Golam Kibria said that the importer of the seized stone truck is Mir Akhter Traders and the exporter is Indian company Srabanti Traders. Moreover, C&F agent Gulf Zohra and his proprietor are Md. Noor Amin
He also said that a case and legal action is under process at Shibganj police station against the seized drug and truck with stones.
