The bloody body recovered from the Mahananda river at Banglabandha Zakirjot border of the upazila has been identified as stone worker Jewel (35). He is the son of Jamal Uddin of village Banshidhar Pujari of Pachpir Union of Boda Upazila.
It is known that the body of a person was recovered from Tetulia Mahananda river last Tuesday (October 8) at noon by Tetulia Model Police Station. His identity was not immediately available. Crime scene unit police started working to identify the body. On that day, the police sent the body to Panchgarh Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
Osman Gani, the brother of the deceased, said that he used to work as a stone worker on rent as a Banglabandha worker in Tentulia in search of work. You can find out later. It was revealed that he used to work as a laborer in Banglabandha area of Tetulia upazila. He has two sons and a daughter.
Local people said that there are marks of beating injuries on different parts of his body including his eyes. There are cuts on the head in different places. It is believed that someone had planned and dumped the body in the river after beating him to death.
Police Inspector of Tentulia Model Police Station (Investigation) SI Ansar Ullah said that a special team of CID is working in the field to identify the body.He also said that there are injury marks on the body's hands, head, neck, forehead and jaw.
A case of murder was registered at Model Police Station in Tetulia.Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Tentulia Model Police Station Prabir Chandra Sarkar said that the deceased has been identified and handed over to the family.
