The police recovered the bloodied body of an unidentified person from Mahananda river at Banglabandha border of Tetulia upazila of Panchagarh district.
The body was recovered from the border of Mahananda river in Zakir Jot area of Tentulia upazila on Tuesday (October 8) afternoon.
According to the police and locals, the laborers were going to lift stones in the Mahananda river in the morning.
They found a bloody body with legs crossed. Later, when the locals informed the UP member, he informed the BGB and Tentulia Model Police Station, later the body was recovered by the police.
Local people said that there are marks of beating injuries on different parts of his body including his eyes. There are cuts on the hands and head in different places. It is believed that someone had planned and dumped the body after beating him to death.
Tentulia Model Police Inspector (Investigation) Kabir Chandra Sarkar said, a special team of CID has come to the spot to identify the body and completed the process, forensics will be sent. The identity will be known later.
He also said that there are injury marks on the body, hands, head, neck, forehead and jaw. He also said that the body has been sent to the morgue of Panchagarh Modern Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. Sujoy Kumar Roy, OC of Tetulia Model Police Station said in this regard that the preparation of the model police station in Tetulia is going on.
