The angry crowd has locked the head teacher's room on allegations of various irregularities and corruption, including the appointment of the President of Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram. When the residents of the area continued to protest, the teacher hurriedly covered the school with a holiday. The incident took place on Tuesday 24th September at around 11 o'clock at Kairpar Bir Vikram High School in Raniganj Uyin of Upazila.
It is known that Aminul Islam joined as the head teacher of Bir Vikram High School, Kairpar on October 06, 2015. After joining the umbrella of the then ruling party Awami League, he got involved in various irregularities and corruption. For the last nine years, he has been running the school as per his wish by collecting more money from the students along with the school tuition fee. No one could protest because the headmaster was influential in the area. After gaining influence, the institution engaged in the recruitment of nanny, MLSS, cleaners and lab assistants. Accepts a large number of people in the same position. There is a complaint against the head teacher that he completed these recruitment processes secretly by forging the signature of President Abdul Karim Mia.
Other candidates were upset when Anishur Rahman, cleaner Ataur Rahman, lab assistant Nazmul Haque and Luchi Khatun were appointed as nanny for the post of MLSS. When the matter came to light, Abdul Karim forged the signature of Mia and filed a written complaint against the four posts in various offices.
When the news spread that the appointment letters for those four posts would be issued on Tuesday, the angry crowd started gathering at the school. Aminul Islam, the clever head teacher, was shocked to see the situation escalate. Later, when immediate school holiday was announced, the agitators locked the headmaster's room.
Two teachers on condition of anonymity said that the head teacher Aminul Islam has been embezzling the tuition fee alone since joining. He managed the school as per his wish. I cannot speak outside of his opinion for various reasons.
Abdul Karim Miah, president of the school and former chairman of Raniganj Union Parishad, said that our committee was dissolved on April 1 of this year. But before this, during my tenure as president, no appointment board was held in this institution. I did not attend any recruitment board and did not sign anywhere. I have come to know from a reliable source that the head teacher Aminul Islam forged my signature and completed the recruitment process for four posts and embezzled half a million taka. I have informed the matter in writing to the concerned office.
Headmaster Aminul Islam denied these allegations and said that the recruitment of these four posts was completed a year ago. Abdul Karim Mia was the president at that time and signed all the documents.
Acting Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Naeem Uddin said that a secondary officer has been sent to the institution to inquire. Necessary action will be taken in this regard later.
